26th Street Improvement Project
The City of Santa Monica has contracted with Hardy & Harper Inc for the Olympic Boulevard and 26th Street project.
The Olympic Boulevard & 26th Street Project in Santa Monica aims to enhance pedestrian and bicycle safety and provide improved access to the Expo Bike Path and Expo 26th Street/Bergamot Station. The project includes the addition of a crosswalk on the west leg of the Olympic Boulevard/26th Street intersection and the implementation of Class IV protected bike lanes on 26th Street from Broadway to Olympic Boulevard. The City of Santa Monica, in collaboration with LA Metro, is investing in infrastructure and initiatives that encourage alternative modes of transportation, such as walking, biking, and transit. The primary focus is on prioritizing the safety of all users within the community.
Construction is expected to begin late September and is scheduled to complete in 6 months.
