"I sat there with Sally. We sat there, we two. And I said, 'How I wish we had something to do.' Too wet to go out and too cold to play ball. So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all." - Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat

Don’t wait around for the Cat in the Hat to come teach you how to have fun this winter! There are so many wonderful things to do and see with little ones in Santa Monica. Winter break is coming, and what better time to check out one – or all – of these five great activities for the whole family. You’ll have so much fun you won’t even miss summer.

  1. Visit the Dr. Seuss Experience at Santa Monica Place and wander through a forest of Truffula trees, search for wockets and waskets and wosets, and maybe even meet that rascal the Cat in the Hat.

  2. Swing by Cayton Children’s Museum for a fun and educational outing. Be sure to check out their fantastic children’s gift shop for early holiday shopping!

  3. Head over to Ice at Santa Monica for some magical skating under the palm trees. Go on a Netflix Family Night to enjoy complimentary skate sessions featuring family favorite films and shows.

  4. Grab a hot cocoa at one of downtown Santa Monica’s many great cafes – cult, Capital One Café, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Espresso Cielo – to name a few!

  5. Head down to Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier for a ride on the world’s first solar-powered Ferris Wheel.
