An outdoor light installation, a massive Promenade music event – Santa Monica has your Valentine’s Day covered

Maybe it’s because it’s Valentine’s Day, maybe it’s a coincidence, but this Saturday happens to be full of INCREDIBLE events in Santa Monica. Go solo, party with friends, celebrate with your kids or a significant other, meet your neighbors, or even bring your dog to a couple of them – but whatever you do, make sure you’re in Santa Monica on Saturday!
Valentine's Night:
4:30 – 7:30 p.m. // Tongva Park
During sunset hours, drop in to experience ATTUNE, an outdoor, multi-location, synchronized sonic network and light installation presented in partnership with NXT Art Foundation. Celebrate the spirit of your community while taking a moment to relax, release stress, and immerse yourself in a transformative light and sound journey led by eight Los Angeles artists.
5 p.m. – Midnight // Third Street Promenade
Three blocks. Three stages. One unforgettable night.
Santa Monica Block Fest Vol. III will transform all three blocks of the Promenade into one of the city’s largest free nightlife and music events to date, featuring Live DJs, custom stages, pop-up bars and immersive nightlife programming – plus Mardi Gras and Valentine’s Day–inspired elements woven throughout the evening.

9 – 11 a.m. // Main Street Community Garden
Love is in the air – and in the garden! A UC Master Gardener will lead a workshop to discuss the love shared between plants through companion planting. Eagle Scouts Troop 223 from Pacific Palisades will also join for a special installation ceremony for the first Lending Library in the Santa Monica Community Gardens!
9 a.m. – Noon // Virginia Avenue Park
Head to Virginia Avenue Park/Pico Farmers Market for a morning of fun and community featuring art and activities for kids, Pico business booths, and community information.
Come dressed in your best Renaissance or creative attire and don’t forget to stop by the photo booth to capture your look!
1:30 – 3 p.m. // Montana Branch Library
Explore how patterns can transform paper and fabric into unique works of art! Participants will carve designs onto small rubber blocks and learn simple stamping techniques to print and repeat their designs. No prior drawing skills are needed.
2 – 5 p.m. // Santa Monica Place
Before heading to dinner or picking up a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift, join Santa Monica Place for live Valentine’s Day–themed music from Feb. 13 to 16.

4:30 – 8 p.m. // Santa Monica Pier
The Pacific Wheel will shine with 174,000 LED lights in red, pink, and white, featuring animated hearts, romantic messages, and love emojis through Feb. 15.
And on Valentine’s Day from 4:30 – 8 p.m., a Ferris Wheel Serenade further sets the mood with romantic live DJ performances adjacent to the world-famous Ferris wheel.
Feb. 14 – March 22, Ruskin Theatre
While opening night on Valentine’s Day is sold out, there are plenty of other dates to catch this production of Joanna Murray-Smith’s “Honour” starring Marcia Cross and Matthew Letscher. The production marks not only the grand re-opening of the 99-seat Ruskin Theatre after a complete rehabilitation, but also the launch of a renewed mission — one that reflects the scale, ambition, and responsibility of its new home.
Sunday, Feb. 15, 9 a.m., beginning at Ishihara Park
Join city staff and Santa Monica Spoke at 9 a.m. on Sunday for a brief bike-handling refresher and safety tips – plus bagels, juice, and coffee – then roll out for a for a fun, family-friendly bike ride through the Bergamot Area First/Last Mile Safety Improvements project.
Through the end of the month, the Santa Monica Pier’s Month of Love 2026 Story Submission Campaign encourages guests to reflect on the memories they’ve made along the historic Pier deck.
Submitted stories will be featured on the Santa Monica Pier’s website and social media channels, creating a collective love letter that honors every form of connection. All stories will be shared anonymously, and all types of love are welcome.
