Give Back by Volunteering with Local Organizations

As we settle into month six of the COVID-19 public health emergency, you may be looking for a way to give back or get involved. Santa Monica’s non-profit partners are in need of volunteers to help continue service to those they serve. We’ve rounded up a handful of organizations looking for volunteers. Explore opportunities below and reach out to them directly to get involved. Thank you for helping make the Santa Monica community stronger through this challenging time.
St. Joseph Center
Opportunity: Needs grocery delivery drivers.

Salvation Army Food Not Bombs Event
Opportunity: Needs food donation pickup volunteers for the Food not Bombs Thursday night meal service. Volunteers pick up food donations at three Santa Monica stores on Wednesday and Thursday mornings between 7:45 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Meals on Wheels West
Opportunity: Needs volunteers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. to help with meal delivery to homebound community members.

Salvation Army Rehab on 11th and Olympic
Opportunity: Need Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or other inspirational speakers to provide counseling sessions via Zoom or in person. Registered Nursing volunteers are needed to provide TB testing on site. Other volunteers are needed to help with separating donations in the warehouse. Santa Monica Farmers Markets
Opportunity: Join the amazing team of volunteers at the Santa Monica Farmers Markets. Volunteers are needed to meet operational and health regulations and to run all four of the City's farmers markets.
American Red Cross
While the American Red Cross has a constant need for volunteers, the health crisis and explosive wildfires across the Western United States pose new challenges and opportunities for service. Volunteering opportunities include serving in wildfire relief operations, donating blood, and other volunteer roles.
