Every day, individuals face decisions about the food they consume and how it may affect their health and the health of our planet.

This inaugural People Planet Plate event celebrates sustainable foods and will help educate you about what to consume with culinary demos, inspirational speakers, and interactive information tables from local food organizations. While participating in those fun activities, you'll also be able to enjoy small bites from local restaurants, various tasting opportunities and networking in the sustainable center lounge.

Whether you consider only a slight adjustment to how you eat, or go all in for a big lifestyle change, sustainable foods can have a big impact on sustainability for our community, region and state.  The City of Santa Monica follows these basic principles and you can too:

Learn and explore how to make food choices that sustain your health and our planet.  People Planet Plate aligns with the City’s Sustainable City Plan, as well as the soon-to-be-released Climate Action & Adaptation Plan, which is currently available for public comment. To attend, we ask you to register here

Produced by Sustainable Works in partnership with the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment.

Enjoy the Zero Waste Event, please use the proper receptacles provided to minimize waste...ideally to ZERO!
