Our flags are at half-staff for at least 59 Americans who lost their lives last night in Las Vegas, and the hundreds of others injured in a senseless act of violence. Though nothing we can say will ease the pain of losing a loved one so tragically or dissipate the fears brought on by such a horrific event, our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, residents affected, the City of Santa Monica staff who were present, and everyone touched by this nightmare. We honor the work of first responders and medical teams whose efforts saved lives. We hope for a fast recovery for those injured so they can return home. Many of our residents likely had friends or loved ones at yesterday’s concert. Know that your community is behind you in this time of pain and confusion. Our hearts are with Las Vegas as they work towards a place of recovery and healing.
