The City of Santa Monica offers programs across public parks and facilities for all to enjoy. This Mother’s Day, plan some quality time with Mom while being out and about in your city!

Aqualillies Mother’s Day Splash & Tea | Sunday, May 13, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. | Annenberg Community Beach House | FEE: $37

Want to do something special with mom? Love Esther Williams and the old movie musicals? Jump in the pool together for a Mother/Daughter water ballet class with the Aqualillies water ballet entertainers. In a special one hour class, you'll learn synchronized swimming moves and unleash your personal water diva. After class, enjoy tea and a snack around the pool deck with your new water ballet friends. Presented at the Annenberg Community Beach House, a facility operated by the City of Santa Monica.

Meet up with garden enthusiasts and take a peek at what’s growing at the Main St. Community Garden in this local monthly gathering. Potluck-style meeting while supplies last. Presented by Santa Monica Community Recreation

 The second weekend of an audio-theater experience where you, Mom and the city take the stage. Go from the bustle of the Santa Monica Pier to the green surroundings of Tongva Park while listening to meditative prompts that reveal what may lie beneath the surface of daily life. Presented by Santa Monica Cultural Affairs.

3D Printing with Brittany Ransom | Saturday May 12, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Camera Obscura Art Lab | FEE: $5 Registration + $5 Material Fee

Explore the basics of 3D printing with Artist-in-Residence Brittany Ransom. Learn how to analyze, prepare, and support 3D models for basic 3D printing processes. Participants will learn how to operate the 3D printer, learn about various types of 3D printing process, and will print a small item to take home. Bring a laptop if you’d like to follow along on your own computer. Presented by Santa Monica Cultural Affairs.

Image Collage Poetry with Kate Ingold | Saturday, May 12, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Camera Obscura Art Lab | FREE, Registration Required

Sit down with Camera Obscura Studio Artist in Residence Kate Ingold (Q & A with Artist) and make collages that combine words with image(s) to create a third work that is greater than the sum of its parts. Challenge yourself with an intellectual and visual puzzle that utilizes chance and juxtaposition! Participants will make collages out of magazines, newspapers, and other 2D sources, then learn techniques for helpful critique of each other’s work. Presented by Santa Monica Cultural Affairs.

Discover the rich history of the Beach House with Santa Monica Conservancy docents. There's no charge to visit, and reservations are never required. Drop-in between 11am - 2pm when docents are available to share history, answer questions and provide brief tours. Presented at the Annenberg Community Beach House, a facility operated by the City of Santa Monica.
