We Are Giving

Perhaps you caught the latest issue of the Seascape, and read the inspiring story of Tess about her volunteer work at The People Concern. Tess’s care for those experiencing homelessness doesn’t stop when she steps outside the Access Center. She often keeps bags of supplies in her car that she can hand out to people. We may not all have the time and talent of Tess, but this holiday season we are making it easier to give to a neighbor in need.

Beyond our list of volunteer and donation opportunities, we are sharing the immediate needs of local nonprofits with our community members through wish lists. With items for every budget, this is an easy way to help those around you! Together, we can make a difference.

Under $10

Bilingual books for preschool-aged kids are invaluable to the Venice Family Clinic’s Spanish speaking families wanting to build literacy skills.
All ages - children, teens, and adults - need undergarments like socks at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services.
A fresh shave can really lift the spirits of a client at The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center.

Under $25

Brighten the day of a homebound senior client of Meals on Wheels West with a cozy blanket.
Often overlooked, help The People Concern restore dignity with clean undergarments.
With a gift card, formerly homeless clients at Step Up on Second can have the freedom to purchase new clothing.

Under $50

Provide a comfortable night’s sleep with pillows and bedding for clients of New Directions for Veterans moving into housing.
The Westside Food Bank knows that emergency preparedness is a necessary, but often unaffordable, need of their clients.
Many clients at Chrysalis could use professional clothes to look sharp for job interviews and stay productive at work.

Would you rather buy local? Use these wish lists to inspire your shopping at Santa Monica businesses this holiday season and drop off your gifts in person!
