Over 200 members of our beautiful beachside community stopped by the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update Community Open House at Tongva Park last Saturday. It was a great day with live music by the talented Mad Alsacians, tasty treats, and giant family fun games!

There were also four interactive stations designed to gather community feedback that will help shape the Master Plan Update.

  1. Key findings from the Needs Assessment Report
  2. Airport to park conversion case studies
  3. Prioritizing development of different types of new parks and adding amenities to existing parks
  4. Identifying locations where new arts and programming should be added

Community members also took the opportunity to draw their ideal park and add comments to the Think Tank (below):

If you were unable to attend the Community Open House, you can still provide input on the Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update, which will set the vision for parks and recreation over the next 20 years. Participate in the ONLINE VERSION of the interactive exercises, which will be open until Monday, March 25.
