The city of Santa Monica is committed to supporting local businesses impacted by the devastating wildfires and the regional recovery efforts. We are working in close partnership with our Santa Monica business partners (Chamber of Commerce, Santa Monica Travel & Tourism, and the Business Improvement Districts), neighboring cities, and regional partners. The city’s Economic Development Team is here to help. We have compiled a list of resources specific to businesses.

your business has been displaced due to the fires and you need help finding a
new location, contact the city of Santa Monica’s Economic Development Team at

The city is also working closely with Palisades schools, community centers and nonprofits to help find new interim space opportunities.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Santa Monica businesses and residents may be eligible for FEMA assistance if they had to evacuate or suffered economic injuries from the disaster. Visit DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA Hotline at 1-800-621-3362, open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. PST, for eligibility information. The deadline to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance is March 10.

Angeles County Assessor
If your property has been damaged or destroyed by the windstorms or wildfires, you may qualify for temporary property tax relief through the Misfortune and Calamity Program. See Relief for Properties Impacted by a Disaster.

United States Small Business Administration (SBA) assistance
- SBA offers Physical Damage Loans + Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Visit MySBA Loan Portal or U.S. Small Business Administration. Or call customer service at (800) 659-2955; dial 7-1-1 to access telecommunications relay services.

- The SBA has set up free walk-in business counseling at the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce to help those affected by the fire with their applications. Hours are Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 2525 Main St. #103.

Property owners experiencing damage or destruction due to the wildfires can leverage California’s Misfortune and Calamity Property Tax Relief. - Employee Assistance
Employers can use qualified disaster relief payments to provide financial assistance to impacted employees.
Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund – $10,000 grant for brick-and-mortar restaurant, gastropub or bakery that has experienced a loss in revenue as a direct result of a natural disaster, severe weather event, or major infrastructure failure which occurred within the last 12 months declared a disaster by state, tribal, or federal government. Own a maximum of three locations and employ fewer than 50 employees per location. Small Business Strong: LA Wildfire Relief Fund – $5,000 grant for micro-businesses,
self-employed workers, service industry entrepreneurs such as gardeners,
housekeepers, nannies, food businesses who do not have access to paid time off
and uninsured/underinsure to replace revenue, relocation cost, basic needs for
them and their families, and repair damages and/or loss of inventory.

LA Region Worker Relief Fund – LA County residents 18 or older who have been displaced and impacted
by the 2025 wind and wildfire disaster. The program will provide grants up to
$2,000 for eligible applicants to access relief and find economic security and
new employment opportunities. The Fund will be administered by Community-Based
Organization(s) with the Department of Economic Opportunity.

LA Region Small Business Relief Fund - Wildfire Relief Fund – LA County small businesses and nonprofits
impacted by the 2025 wind and wildfire disaster. The program will provide
grants up to $25,000 for eligible applicants to access relief, start to
recover, and rebuild their business in LA County and will be administered by
Community-Based Organizations with the Department of Economic Opportunity.
