4th Street Enhancements Project Phase II

For this project, crews will be working on 4th St between Colorado Ave and Olympic Blvd to install new curb ramps, curb & gutters, crosswalks, paving, new fencing on the freeway bridge, streetlights along 4th St, traffic signal infrastructure, and new landscaping in the median and parkway areas. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times. Please use alternate routes whenever possible. Please note temporary sidewalk closures and detours where posted.

UPDATED FOR OFF-RAMP AND ON-RAMP CLOSURES

As part of the improvements, street light and electrical conduit work will be performed in the sidewalks on 4th Street between Olympic Blvd. and Colorado Ave. in the northbound and southbound direction. Work will begin on Monday, March 11, 2024, and last approximately until May 3, 2024. Work will begin on Monday, March 11, 2024, and last approximately until May 3, 2024. Between Tuesday 4/2, and Thursday 4/4, one lane off-ramp will be closed and only one left-turn lane will be available. The traffic lanes will be reduced, and one side of the sidewalk will be closed at each phase due to the operation of heavy equipment necessary to construct the project.
The work will start in the southbound direction (Phase 1) and then move to the northbound direction (Phase 2). All work will take place during daytime between the hours of 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. Please note that the start and completion time/date of construction may be delayed due to unforeseen conditions and weather.
Traffic Impacts:
· Driveways,
businesses, and Civic Center Parking Structure will remain accessible at all
times.
· Sidewalk
pedestrian access will closed along each phase and only sidewalk opposite side
of the street will be open along 4th Street.
· One
lane of traffic in each direction on 4th Street will be maintained
at all times.
· Between Tuesday 4/2, and Thursday 4/4,
one lane off-ramp will be closed and only one left-turn lane will be available.
