Candidate Statement in English
I am a husband, dad, renter, public health leader, former congressional staffer, and member of the Housing and Human Services Commission. I am running to help build a safer, more affordable, and more inclusive Santa Monica.
For more than 25 years, I have advanced progressive values as an activist, volunteer, and public servant. I have worked to protect workers, improve public health, strengthen the social safety net, and help communities navigate complex challenges. I know how to build partnerships, secure resources, and turn ideas into results.
My priorities:
- Affordability: Protect renters, make housing more affordable, and ease the cost of living.
- Safe, healthy neighborhoods: Improve public safety, address homelessness, strengthen mental health and addiction services, and keep our streets, parks, and public spaces clean.
- A stronger local economy: Support workers, small businesses, and a vibrant Downtown.
- Effective government: Bring transparency, accountability, collaboration, and practical problem-solving to City Hall.
I am endorsed by Assemblymember Rick Zbur, five of Santa Monica’s seven City Councilmembers, along with members of the Santa Monica College Board, Rent Control Board, and dozens of leaders across our community.
I would be honored to earn your vote.
