Citizenship Classes The Library hosts a series of citizenship classes taught by Adult Education Center instructors. Classes are free and students must be 18 years or older to attend. Community parents and SMMUSD parents have priority enrollment. Classes run from August through June. Courses
through June. Courses are designed to meet educational goals with a focus on using English for real-life needs, employment, and citizenship. Classes include practice of listening, speaking, reading, and writing for beginning through advanced students. Enrollment is through the Adult Education Center
Literacy at the Library The Library's LEAF (Literacy Education for Adults & Families) program offers literacy services for all ages. Programs include computer classes, ESL classes, citizenship classes, adult tutoring, and programs for children and families. Learn more below. LEAF is supported by a California State Library grant.
