The City of Santa Monica's 2025 Parks and Recreation Vision Plan was adopted on Tuesday, January 27, 2026!
The 2025 Parks and Recreation Vision Plan (PRVP) acts upon the 1997 Parks and Recreation Master Plan's legacy with a new vision - "City as Habitat". Almost 30 years later, the plan is inspired by the voice of the community, establishing actionable recommendations to help guide the future of the City's open space network, through a lens of sustainability, recreation, and arts.
