Reed Park Community Garden

Welcome to the Reed Park Community Garden at the Miles.

This small parcel of public land will be cared for by the community, for the community.  Our initial plan is to start simply, and allow the Community Garden to grow and adapt as the programming returns to the Miles Playhouse.  Please reach out to us by emailing at teague.weybright@santamonica.gov or calling us at 310-458-2213 with questions and inquiries.

This garden will be communally managed by a group of Approved Volunteers.  We will not, initially, be renting out plots to individuals.  It is anticipated that there will be regular work days as determined by the group of Volunteers that coalesce, and in collaboration with the Recreation and Arts Department that is managing the Playhouse.  If you are interested in volunteering requirement for the City of Santa Monica's Community Garden program, you can find that information including how to apply as a volunteer at our main Community Garden Website.

The plans call for a mixture of native indigenous plants, fruit trees, raised bed and in ground edible plantings along with pollinator gardens to create an appropriate habitat that is beneficial to the flora and fauna that will use the space.  All brought together in a cohesive and educational setting that will provide a space of peace, serenity and perhaps some locally grown produce for our community.
