Santa Monica Public Library presents Smart Money Fundamentals

Santa Monica, California – The Santa Monica Public Library is proud to present Smart Money Fundamentals on Wednesday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library’s MLK, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.

Learn what you need to know to handle your money smartly. Three certified financial planners – Sam Rad, John Pak, and Rishin Doshi – discuss the economic outlook for 2016, including the state of the stock and real estate markets, what your retirement options are, and important facts about Social Security and Medicare.  Sam Rad, a Certified Financial Planner and UCLA instructor, provides the economic outlook for 2016 in order to better understand where we are heading into the future. Sam discusses how to financially navigate the coming years in an entertaining and educational way to help you make better financial choices.  John Pak, a Certified Financial Planner and Cal State instructor, simplifies and separates fact from fiction associated with Social Security and Medicare. He discusses the origins of the respective programs, takes a closer look at the mechanics of each, and explores the ways in which individuals can maximize benefits and avoid the pitfalls.  Rishin Doshi, a Chartered Financial Analyst and USC instructor, discusses the various types of retirement accounts available to individuals, as well as the basic building blocks of crafting an estate plan.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and on a first-arrival basis.  The Santa Monica Public Library is wheelchair accessible.  For special disabled services, call Library Administration at (310) 458-8606 at least one week prior to event.  For more information, visit smpl.org or contact the Santa Monica Public Library at (310) 458-8600.
