Paul Stein & Leo Marcus Perform Unknown Romantic Masterpieces by Delius and Reger, Part 2 at Santa Monica Public Library

January 26, 2017 9:22 AM

Santa Monica, California – Santa Monica Public Library presents Unknown Romantic Masterpieces by Delius and Reger, Part 2 with Paul Stein and Leo Marcus on Sunday, February 12, at 2:00 pm in the Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.

Violinist Paul Stein and Pianist Leo Marcus perform a concert of sonatas for violin and piano by Frederick Delius and Max Reger. Delius and Reger wrote these sonatas in the second decade of the 20th century, coping in different ways with the emergence of “modern” music out of the romanticism of the late 19th century. These sonatas form a very interesting juxtaposition when heard in the same program. This performance with commentary is the second in a series first presented at the Santa Monica Public Library in September 2015.

This program is free and open to all ages.  Seating is limited and on a first arrival basis. The Santa Monica Public Library is wheelchair accessible. For special disabled services, call Library Administration at (310) 458-8606 at least one week prior to event. The Main Library is served by Big Blue Bus routes 1, 7, R7, R10 and 18. Ride your bike. Bicycle parking racks are available at the library.
