Santa Monica Beach Trail Project Open House This Saturday

May 19, 2017 9:52 AM

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – Last month, more than 1,000 people filled out surveys about their perceptions of safety and comfort and desired improvements along the Beach Trail in Santa Monica. The City of Santa Monica will hold a Community Open House on Saturday, May 20, 2017 to share what we learned from the surveys and to present preliminary concepts for the North Beach Trail Project Improvements.

The project includes the renovation of Ocean Front Walk, north of the Pier, the addition of a clearly defined separate path for pedestrians at the north end of the bike path, and circulation improvements along the bike path under the Pier and around the large parking lot north of the Pier to accommodate the heavy pedestrian traffic

The Open House is a great opportunity to talk with the design team and City staff and provide feedback about the initial concepts and the overall project.

Stop by the white tent on Saturday, May 20 between 10 a.m. and noon at the 1100 block of Ocean Front Walk, at California Avenue.

Please visit the City’s project website http://www.santamonicaparks.org/beach-trail for more information about the project and for updates about future public meetings.
