Celebrate Ocean Park Branch Library’s 100th Anniversary

Santa Monica, California – The kickoff to a year-long celebration honoring the 100th Anniversary of the Ocean Park Branch Library will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm the Ocean Park Branch Library's Lawn, 2601 Main Street.
The free, fun-filled day for the entire family highlights the library's commitment to the Ocean Park community and life-long learning. Join in the festivities of the centennial kickoff with an afternoon of crafts, games, light refreshments, and music on the lawn by DJ Patrick Miller.

The Branch represents one of the few Carnegie-endowed structures still functioning as a public library in Southern California. Designed by local architects Frank T. Kegley and H. Scott Gerity in the Classical Revival architectural style, the Branch was built in 1917-18 on land donated by the Tegner family. It opened to the public on February 15, 1918.
