SANTA MONICA, Calif. — On December 3, 2018, Larry Jamieson, an employee of Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus, was arrested on charges that he possessed child pornography.

“We are heartsick and devastated by the arrest of Larry Jamieson for allegedly possessing child pornography,” said Rick Cole, Santa Monica’s City Manager. “As City Manager and as a father of three, I share the reaction of anyone who hears about these disgusting allegations that prey on the innocence of children. We are fully cooperating with the LAPD investigation to ensure justice is done. We encourage anyone with relevant information to step forward and contact the LAPD.”

On November 24th, Mr. Jamieson, Transit Operations Superintendent for Santa Monica's bus department since 2012 tendered his resignation, which the city accepted to be effective January 2, 2019. Pending resolution of the charges the City has placed him on administrative leave, effective immediately.

The charges against Mr. Jamieson are the result of an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the United States Homeland Security Investigations, Child Exploitation Investigations Group. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Lisa Kelly or Detective Lisette Garcia at 562-624-4027.
