A Statement from Interim City Manager Lane Dilg on the Revised Heroes Act and COVID-19 Relief for Cities

Santa Monica joins cities across the country in supporting this COVID-19 relief package and the U.S. Conference of Mayors' call for bipartisan action to bring vital relief to cities on the frontline of pandemic response and recovery.
A new coronavirus relief bill introduced by the House of Representatives would, if passed, provide $2.2 trillion in federal funding, including $89.5 billion for local municipalities to respond to and recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. An allocation of a portion of this funding to the City of Santa Monica would support our pandemic response, including things like the food pantry at Virginia Avenue Park and the City’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program, and also bolster community services by replacing some lost revenues caused by the economic crisis precipitated by the pandemic.
