Community Invited to Take Survey to Inform City Manager Recruitment

March 16, 2021 11:45 AM

The recruitment to find an experienced and energetic City Manager to lead the City of Santa Monica is now underway. The community is invited to get involved through a survey and upcoming listening session. Now through April 12, Santa Monica community members can share perspectives on recommended key attributes for the next leader of the City administration. The survey is accessible at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SantaMonicaCM.

“We value community input as a critical component to identifying the qualities Santa Monica needs in a leader who, with the Council, will see the City through the next stage of its recovery as the pandemic subsides and the economy lifts. Please weigh in so we have your thoughts as we select our next City Manager,” said Mayor Sue Himmelrich who, with Councilmembers Gleam Davis and Oscar de la Torre, is leading the City Council subcommittee for the City Manager recruitment.

The City Council subcommittee selected Ralph Andersen & Associations, including Lamont Ewell, a respected leader and former Santa Monica city manager (2006 – 2009), to oversee the national search.

Ralph Anderson and Lamont Ewell will host a community listening session in early April.
