Santa Monica’s Chief Resilience Officer Honored for Service and Leadership

This month, Santa Monica’s Chief Resilience Officer and Emergency Operations Director, Lindsay Call, will be honored by two local organizations for her unwavering leadership and service to the Santa Monica community.
This honor comes as we celebrate Women’s History Month in March and marks two years since the COVID-19 pandemic began, which is when Call stepped into the role as the City’s Emergency Operations Director to lead Santa Monica’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Call led Citywide efforts to provide access to the COVID-19 vaccine, which contributed to over 72,800 Santa Monica residents and almost 1,800 City staff receiving their vaccine.
"Lindsay has guided our community through this public health emergency with dedication and leadership since the very beginning,” said Santa Monica City Manager David White. “I am grateful for her service and elated that our community is recognizing the talents she shares with Santa Monica every day – grace under pressure, a commitment to equity, and an eye toward the future to help us bounce back after emergencies.”
In addition to her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, Call oversees the City’s Office of Emergency Management, including its 24/7 public safety dispatch center. She also directs work to ensure Santa Monica is prepared to weather crises of all kinds and successfully integrates emergency preparedness planning with key resilience initiatives.
Call will be recognized first by the Santa Monica Chamber's Organization of Women Leaders tonight as they celebrate International Women's Day and then honored by the League of Women’s Voters of Santa Monica on Thursday, March 24 with the Yellow Rose Award.
