Roberry / Stabbing Arrest

Santa Monica, CA – On May 6, 2022, at about 1:45 PM, a male (hereinafter referred to as V1) was lying on a park bench at Tongva Park when he was confronted by a group of male and female juveniles. One of the young males grabbed a cellphone out of V1's hand, then ran. Another male juvenile then brandished a knife and made a threat to V1, before all the juveniles fled the area. A short time later, V1 saw one of the female juveniles involved in the initial robbery, sitting on the east end of the park. V1 confronted her and took her cellphone as leverage to get his phone back. The large group of juveniles returned to assist and became involved in a physical altercation with V1. During the fight, V1 and another male (V2) trying to intervene, were both stabbed. SMFD responded and both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Several juveniles were detained and interviewed. Multiple knives were recovered. The following arrests were made:

• 1 male juvenile booked for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon

• 1 male juvenile booked for robbery

• 1 female juvenile booked for robbery

• Joseph Zachariah Theus, 19-year-old from Los Angeles, was booked for providing false ID to police, cited and released
