What is the difference between Sidewalk Dining and Parklets?

The Sidewalk Dining and Parklet programs both allow businesses to offer outdoor dining by expanding into public space just outside of their brick-and-mortar business. While the Sidewalk Dining program allows a business to occupy sidewalk space, the Parklet program allows for expansion into street parking spaces. These programs involve a permit and license agreement with a monthly fee (based on size).

What is the new Simple Table + Chairs program?

This new program offers a streamlined process for businesses wishing to offer Sidewalk Dining without barriers or other fixtures. The process is reduced to a simple application. While insurance requirements remain, a license agreement is not needed, unlike other outdoor dining programs. There are also no monthly fees.
