The Santa Monica Fire Department (SMFD) is engaging in a comprehensive strategic planning process that will help guide our department over the next five years. Strategic planning can serve as an opportunity to unify internal and external stakeholders through a shared vision as we continue to identify ways to improve the service we provide to our community. This plan will help build effective strategies that align with the values, needs, and expectations of those we serve.

About Santa Monica Fire Department: The City of Santa Monica Fire Department is a professional all-risk fire agency that operates out of 5 Fire Stations throughout the City with 35 personnel on duty daily. SMFD responds to over 17,000 calls for service annually and provides various services to the community, including fire suppression, hazardous materials response, emergency medical services, urban search and rescue response, fire prevention, residential and commercial inspections, and public education.
