Farmers Market

How are we doing?

The Santa Monica Farmers Markets are committed to promoting healthful eating and sustainable agriculture by providing fresh products from small farms to urban customers, thereby building community and preserving California farmland. An increase in sales at local farmers’ markets ensures that these relationships continue to thrive while offering a consistent supply of fresh food for residents.

The Santa Monica Farmers Markets, established in 1981, have become a year-round staple to provide customers with fresh, seasonal and organic produce—with an estimated 900,000 shoppers each year. Overall, sales have been increasing steadily, but dropped slightly in recent years due to pandemic and economic hardships.
