Nearly three months into the COVID-19 pandemic and Breeze Bike Share continues to offer free unlimited 90-minute rides. In March, as emergency orders were established to protect community members and businesses, the City also took decisive steps to make Breeze Bike Share free, ensuring that community members and workers continued to have access to safe, affordable, and reliable transportation options for essential trips through this uncertain time.

Because of this action, the Better Bike Share Partnership, through the People For Bikes Foundation, granted Santa Monica $10,000 to help sustain Breeze operations at no cost to riders at a time when 10% of Santa Monica households do not have access to a vehicle and community members who depend on it, may be hesitant to ride public transit.

With fewer cars on the road and free rides, now is a great time to try Breeze for short trips around town or to get out and exercise while maintaining physical distance. Breeze Bike Share staff has increased the daily frequency with which they clean and sanitize the fleet and maintenance vehicles. This team wears appropriate personal protective equipment at all times in the field. As you journey out, here are a few things to keep in mind to help keep yourself safe.

You can subscribe to ride Breeze by downloading the Social Bicycles App or visiting www.breezebikeshare.com
