The Library offers 24/7 access to a suite of e-resources for all ages, including eBooks, streaming and downloadable audiobooks, music, movies and more.
To get started, you will need a Santa Monica Public Library card and an email. Download apps from the App Store to your device.
SMPL Mobile (App Store / Google Play) - Search the Santa Monica Public Library's collection of books, audiobooks, music and videos. Place holds, check your due dates, renew items, and get the availability information, anytime and anywhere.

Libby, by OverDrive - Discover and enjoy ebooks, digital magazines, and audiobooks for adults, kids & teens. Check out bestselling books and audiobooks, digital magazines, picture books, classics, and other high quality fiction and nonfiction titles selected by our librarians. Check out up to 20 ebooks or audiobooks at a time. Magazines do not count toward your checkout limit. Items are returned automatically.
Hoopla Digital - Stream or download (app only) a vast collection of ebooks, audiobooks, comics, music and video for all ages, in multiple languages. Everything is always available, so you never have to place holds. Borrow up to 6 items per calendar month.
Brainfuse/Help Now - Get live, one-to-one homework help from a trained tutor. Online tutoring in math, science, language arts, and social studies for students in grades 3-12 and those in introductory college courses. Adult learners can get help with the GED test, US Citizenship test, and more. Spanish-speaking tutors are available. Available every day (except holidays) from 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
