General Election 2022

I'm running for City Council because of OUT-OF-CONTROL CRIME, RENT GOUGING and CONFLICT OF INTEREST! 

I offer an alternative to the pro-development establishmentarian status quo of POLITICS AS USUAL. I will speak TRUTH TO POWER, audit and streamline the city budget to eliminate waste and excessive salaries.  

I have long advocated for a VIRTUAL TOWN HALL on the CITY WEBSITE, with moderated FORUMS for grassroots participatory democracy to EMPOWER RESIDENTS and for TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY at City Hall. 

GENTRIFICATION has resulted in severe rent gouging by the corporate landlords and developers who have taken over the city. It is almost impossible to be elected without support from SPECIAL INTERESTS. 

However, in 2020 the residents succeeded in electing a PRO-RESIDENT slate, a real game changer. The playing field is even more in this election as two councilmembers dropped out. 

Santa Monica "Renters Rights" (SMRR) has been a powerful player since the halcyon days of REAL rent control. Since then, despite so-called slow, smart and responsible growth, we are experiencing an explosion of so-called “affordable” housing and the worst rent gouging in the history of this city.

¡Me estoy postulando para el Concejo Municipal debido al CRIMEN FUERA DE CONTROL, LA ESTAFA DE LOS ALQUILERES y EL CONFLICTO DE INTERESES! 

Ofrezco una alternativa al statu quo de la clase dirigente, a favor de la urbanización, que hace POLÍTICA COMO SIEMPRE. Hablaré con la VERDAD AL PODER, auditaré y optimizaré el presupuesto de la ciudad para eliminar el malgasto y los salarios excesivos. 

Llevo mucho tiempo abogando por un MUNICIPIO VIRTUAL en el SITIO WEB DE LA CIUDAD, con FOROS moderados para la democracia participativa de base con el fin de EMPODERAR A LOS RESIDENTES y para la TRANSPARENCIA y la RESPONSABILIDAD en el Ayuntamiento. 

La GENTRIFICACIÓN ha dado lugar a una grave estafa en los alquileres por parte de arrendadores y urbanizadores corporativos que se han apoderado de la ciudad. Es casi imposible ser elegido sin el apoyo de los INTERESES ESPECIALES. 

Sin embargo, en 2020 los residentes lograron elegir una lista A FAVOR DE LOS RESIDENTES, un verdadero cambio de juego. El campo de juego lo es aún más en esta elección ya que dos miembros del concejo abandonaron la contienda. 

Santa Monica para los "Derechos de los Inquilinos" (SMRR) ha jugado un papel decisivo desde los días felices de control REAL del alquiler. Desde entonces, a pesar del llamado crecimiento lento, inteligente y responsable, estamos experimentando una explosión de las llamadas viviendas “asequibles” y la peor estafa de alquileres en la historia de esta ciudad.
