19th St. Community Farm
ABOUT THE SITE
This site was purchased by the City in 2019 using a combination of of General Funds and Community Development Block Grant Funds to be used as an agricultural space. The site is roughly 8000 square feet and has been vacant for over 20 years.
CURRENT STATUS
The project is divided into two phases. Phase 1 involved basic infrastructure, such as leveling, border fence upgrades and water connections. The activities related to this part of the project have been completed !!
Phase 2 will work to incorporate suggestions garnered from our design workshops and subsequent conversations and input. We have selected a contractor to implement these elements with construction to begin in Early 2026.
We anticipate the garden will be operational the Summer of 2026. To get community members up to speed on current status, as well as discussing operations once it is open, we are hosting two meetings in December.
