Apply to be a Food Vendor at the Farmers Market

Prepared and pre-packaged food vendors are selected via a City of Santa Monica bid process.  The process for 2022 has an anticipated opening in Spring 2022.  Vendors selected through this process would have an anticipated start in Summer 2022.  

Food Vendor participation rates are 12% of gross daily market sales + $2 per market attended for state legislative fee.

Follow the numbered steps at the bottom of this page to register and be notified when the bid opens. 

Vendor types that will be selected for each of the Santa Monica Farmers Markets are as follows:

Downtown Wednesday and Downtown Saturday:  bread and pastries only

Saturday Pico and Sunday Main Street:  2-5 vendors bread, pastries, coffee, pre-packaged food and hot food.  


All vendors are responsible for compliance with the Health Code Requirements for Community Events in Los Angeles County.

Once final selections have been made, selected vendors will be required to obtain a temporary food facility permit.  DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS PERMIT UNTIL YOU ARE NOTIFIED THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED.

Once final selections have been made, selected vendors will be required to obtain a Santa Monica Business License.  DO NOT APPLY FOR A BUSINESS LICENSE UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED.

Retail vending is allowed only at the Sunday Main Street Market, and is open to vendors with a business on Main Street.  Vendors who qualify should click here to visit the Main Street Business Improvement Association website, and contact MSBIA for details on how to participate.


Farmers, ranchers and fishers wishing to sell certified and non-certified agricultural products should click here to visit the Farmer Application page.

  1. Register as a vendor via the ProcureNow website

  2. Subscribe via ProcureNow to be notified when City of Santa Monica bids are open.

  3. When the bid is open, fill out the application and include any required documents.

    The bid will include details about any requirements and mandatory documents.  

    Submit any questions through the ProcureNow site.

  4. Once the bid has closed, you will be contacted if you are selected.
