How to Submit an Annual Fire Permit

Chapter 1, Section 105.6 of the California Fire Code authorizes an annual permit for every building or structure, facility, or portion thereof that conducts activities, which produce conditions hazardous to life or property.  The Annual Permit is issued to business owners.

Permits are not transferable and any change in occupancy, operation, tenancy or ownership shall require that a new permit be issued.

  2. Renewing Your Permit

    + -

As a business owner, you need to renew your Annual Permit if you continue to conduct the same business activities during succeeding years. If you discontinue a permitted activity, you are required to inform Fire Prevention that the activity has been discontinued.

    • After Fire Prevention receives the permit renewal payment, the permit will be issued.

Annually, a fire inspector will conduct an inspection of the property to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and any condition (s) imposed. During the inspection, it will be determined whether the business requires additional fire permits to conduct current business activities. If additional fire permits are required, Fire Prevention will mail out the additional permit invoice letter to the business owner.
