Planning an Event at the Annenberg Community Beach House

There are many ways to gather at the Annenberg Community Beach House.

The Beach House is available for meetings and retreats from team building to executive presentations as well as weddings, celebrations, filming, and photography. The Beach House offers both historic Hollywood glamour and modern coastal California style.

For a more casual experience, the outdoor seating areas at the Beach House are free and open to the public. The seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. In the summertime, reservable canopies in the sand are available for groups up to 30.

Different rules apply to private events booked through Event Services such as meetings and weddings, and the more casual experiences in outdoor public spaces. Contact Guest Services at (310) 458-4904 with any questions.

What is prohibited?

For public casual gatherings, review Beach House Rules.

For private events booked through Event Services, the following are prohibited, including but not limited to:

Smoking and hard alcohol.
Animals, except for guide dogs and service animals. This includes any decor that may use live animals, fish, or fowl.
Open flames and barbeques.
Gambling or casino games [no casino night for private events]
Glass NOT allowed on pool deck, view deck, splash pad, courtyard, or in Sand & Sea Room. Includes glassware, glass bottles, glass containers, etc.
Exterior lighting must be downward-facing, no uplighting of trees, buildings, or structures is allowed.
Any event that is open to the public. Organizers interested in producing public events may contact the Guest Services Office at (310) 458-4904.
Political events which are open to the public.
Activities prohibited by city ordinance, state, or federal law.

Can food be served at my event?

For public casual gatherings, you may bring food or have it delivered. Outside caterers and food vendors are not allowed to set up in the shared spaces at the Beach House, which includes the sandy area and the parking lot. Casual beachy food works great at the Beach House! There is no refrigeration available, and we are not able to hold any items in our facility. Open flames are not allowed, including chafing dish fuel.

For private events booked through Event Services, food and refreshments ranging from light fare to full sit-down meals may be served. Event Services clients are required to use a caterer from the list of Beach House approved caterers. Event clients may not serve home-prepared, outside purchased, or take-out prepared food at the Beach House.

Can alcohol be served at my event?

For public casual gatherings, alcohol is not permitted. Please review Beach House Rules.

For private events booked through Event Services, Beach House caterers must supply and serve all beverages including beer, wine, and champagne. Hard alcohol is not permitted. Alcoholic beverages must be served by catering staff from bars that are located within the permitted space. Self-served alcohol is not permitted.
