In preparation for National Bike Month in May and Bike It! Walk It! Bus It! Week (May 4–8), the city of Santa Monica and Walk ’n Rollers are excited to host a free Bike Rodeo and Bike Skills Workshop for all students on Sunday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to Noon at Lincoln Middle School.
This fun, hands-on event will give students the opportunity to practice important biking skills in a safe and supportive environment. Participants will rotate through interactive skill stations where they can practice starting and stopping, signaling, maneuvering around obstacles, and learning basic traffic safety tips for riding in their neighborhood.
Bikes and helmets will be provided while supplies last, so students can participate even if they don’t have their own equipment. Staff will be on hand to guide students through the activities and help them build confidence riding on two wheels.
There will also be free helmet giveaways and other fun activities for participants, while supplies last.
Whether you’re just learning to ride or already enjoy biking around the neighborhood, this event is a great way to build confidence and develop safe riding habits while getting ready for National Bike Month!
Learn more and register here.
Please meet on the blacktop and basketball courts at Lincoln Middle School, 1501 California Ave.
