Commercial Collection Services
Container sizes that are available to commercial businesses include: 65-, 95- and 300-gallon containers and 2, 3, and 4-cubic-yard bins for refuse. The fee varies according to the frequency of service, and the number and size of containers that are being serviced. To view the current fees, please click here.
COMMINGLED RECYCLING SERVICES
The Resource Recovery & Recycling Division will provide commingled recycle containers to Santa Monica commercial customers. These
may be collected daily, if necessary, from the area of regular
collection service. There is no additional charge for commingled recycle
containers for commercial businesses.
EXTRA RECYCLING COLLECTION CONTAINERS
There
is no additional charge for extra recycling containers. If you have
more recyclable materials than your containers can hold, please
contact 311 via phone at (866) 311-7266, via email at 311@santamonica.gov, or submit an online request to obtain
more containers for your materials.
FOOD WASTE RECYCLING
The
Resource Recovery & Recycling Division provides food waste
recycling containers, at no additional charge, to restaurants that have
city refuse collection service. Participants are required to separate
all organic waste and place it into special containers provided by the
city.
EXTRA REFUSE
The
Resource Recovery & Recycling Division provides extra collection
services to businesses with city collection refuse service for an
additional cost. Charges will be assessed depending on the number of
additional collection container(s).
Trash pickup does not occur on the days below. Please note: Whenever a designated holiday falls on a Saturday, it shall be celebrated on the immediately preceding Friday. Whenever a designated holiday falls on a Sunday, it shall be celebrated on the immediately following Monday.

The following 2026 holidays will have regular service:
- Juneteenth (Friday, June 19th, 2026, will have regular Friday service, Saturday, June 20th will have regular Saturday service).
- Independence Day (Friday, July 3rd will have regular Friday service, Saturday, July 4th will have regular Saturday service).
DAMAGED OR STOLEN BINS?
If you need a
replacement bin due to damage or theft you can request a replacement by contacting 311 via phone at (866) 311-7266, via email at 311@santamonica.gov, or submit an online request.
