Housing Success

HLP coordinated two successful Project Homecoming efforts. One individual contacted in the beach lots was temporarily transported to SamoBridge while return-home arrangements were completed. A second individual contacted in Tongva Park was assisted with transportation back to Kansas.

Livability Operation

During a multi-unit beach livability operation, HLP worked with DSU, patrol, DMH, the Salvation Army, HPI, C3, and HOST. The operation resulted in six arrests, 15 citations, one SamoBridge referral, 20 people connected with resources, two DMH mental-health evaluations, and the removal of 2,680 pounds of trash.

Officers also arrested an individual in Virginia Avenue Park who had a fully extraditable Arizona parole warrant. The suspect resisted officers during the arrest and was subsequently found in possession of cocaine. Other HLP contacts resulted in arrests involving felony narcotics possession and no-bail warrants.
