During the week, the Santa Monica Police Department focused on violent-crime response, major felony warrant apprehensions, homelessness engagement, and traffic safety operations across the city. Officers responded to multiple incidents involving armed suspects, including a pursuit linked to an out-of-state homicide, in addition to felony arrests connected to parole violations, narcotics offenses, and weapons possession. Personnel conducted targeted enforcement and service outreach throughout Downtown, the beach, and parks, resulting in service referrals, warrant arrests, and mental-health interventions. Traffic units investigated significant collisions, continued hit-and-run follow-up, and performed grant-funded enforcement in high-collision areas. Community engagement teams supported holiday events, youth programming, and department-wide outreach.
