Candidate Statement in English

It has been the honor of my life to serve the community that raised me as your City Councilmember.

I am a lifelong Santa Monica resident, small business owner, nonprofit founder, renter, wife, and mother. My family’s roots run deep here, and I understand the challenges facing our neighborhoods, local businesses, and families because I live them every day.

As Mayor, I helped lead Santa Monica through the Palisades Fire response while keeping residents informed through regular updates and open communication. I launched People’s Academy because I believe government should be transparent, accessible, and accountable.

I have championed common sense public safety policies, consistently supported our police officers and firefighters, cut unnecessary red tape for small businesses, and advocated for a common sense, accountable approach to homelessness that prioritizes treatment, mental health care, recovery, and safer neighborhoods.

While serving on the Council, I underwent treatment for breast cancer and never missed a Council meeting. That experience reinforced my belief that leadership means showing up, listening, and doing the work.

I respectfully ask for your vote so we can continue building a safer, cleaner, more transparent, and more prosperous Santa Monica together.
