Gather and Grow: Vinyl Vibes
Join us for the final event in the Gather and Grow season with "Vinyl Vibes"! Get ready for a listening party like no other -- we are closing out the season in style with dancing, music, hands-on activities, and a wine garden. So many great activities packed into this event... The afternoon kicks off with a special set from Soul of Cali highlighting their students and leading up to a community dance celebration where are all encouraged to get up and move together. In celebration of October LGBTQ History Month, stop by the study/listening corner curated by writer Trish Bendix and hosted by the "Out in Santa Monica" city employee group to learn about the long history of incredible LGBTQ musicians. Unleash your creativity with Camera Obscura Artist in Residence Harmony Harris, who leads a painting workshop for all ages. Throughout the event, park yourself in the wine garden by Offhand Wine Bar (cash bar, 21+ only), listen to DJs spinning vinyl, sip wine and grab a bite from ¡Quesadilla Mía!
Gather & Grow invites the community to spend a day relaxing and playing in Reed Park while enjoying a range of artistic experiences. Activities for children and adults begin at 4pm. Each event in the series offers a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on art making, take in the natural surroundings, spend time grooving to music, watch incredible performances, and have fun with the whole family!
