Downtown Farmers Market Anniversary Event

Come celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Downtown Farmers Market!

Starting at 8 a.m., visitors can pick up a commemorative screen-printed tote bag, made live at the market while supplies last! 

The “Museum of Market” booth will display banners, articles, photographs, and artifacts spanning the market’s four and a half decades, and a Gratitude Station will showcase thank-you notes from the community, with postcards available for visitors to add their own or take home as a souvenir.

At 10 a.m., we’ll present commendations to our long-term farmers, which include some who were selling at the market on the very first day it opened in 1981! We’ll also recognize our Most Loved Farmers from the Buy Local Santa Monica Most Loved campaign. Then, at 10:45 a.m., the celebration continues with cakes and refreshments made with love by local bakers, including PetitGrain Boulangerie, Sasha Piligian, Nourish the Soul Panaderia, and more.
